Someone Finally Built our Dream Nintendo Wii Gaming PC

A true Nintendo Wii gaming PC now is available, and the tiny stealth rig can run Minecraft at 4K. The customized build can handle games that are competitive, such as Fortnite and Rocket League, thanks to its AMD Ryzen 5 APU and a few clever console shell changes.

AlexTriesTech developed the Nintendo Wii gaming computer, or 'WiiC,' which is a low-spec console disguised as a family console.  Minecraft servers The AMD Ryzen 5 5500U-powered machine can play Wii games using Dolphin however, it's fully-fledged Windows 11 system and will run a large portion of your Steam library.

AlexTriesTech has modified the WiiC's motherboard so that it can fit inside the Nintendo Wii's small chassis. To make the build compatible with the Nintendo WiiC, they have eliminated extras such as Gamecube controller ports, or its disc drive from its original. The sell also features improvements to airflow, decrease the CPU's throttling and eventually increase the speed of the game.

The project is the result of months worth of fiddling around, but the finished product is a functional Nintendo Wii. It even comes with RGB lighting that resembles the blue glow of the original console’s disc slot.

Although the Wii stealth rig may appear to be a novelty, benchmarks show it's more than a joke. The micro device can create over 100 frames per second in Fornite and run Rainbow Six: Siege at 1080p 60fps, Shadow of the Tomb Raider at just about playable size on a tiny PC. As mentioned previously it is able to run Minecraft at 4K, which means you can pair it up with the most powerful gaming monitor to play the iconic block game at higher resolution.

In the past, we had decided that the Queen's Golden Wii should be turned into the best gaming PC, but we're happy to settle for AlexTriesTech's design. It looks like the old thing you used for tennis and bowling with your Nan. This is precisely what makes it different.
